Sole
Spirits
a film by Joanna Jefferson

Synopsis
On the banks of the Ohio River, a weathered Victorian farmhouse
stands overlooking the water. It is here that Claudia has spent most
of her life-where she raised her son, buried her husband, and now lives
on her own. Out of necessity, her son, Jackson has made a brief trip
to his childhood home, bringing his nine-year-old daughter, Elizabeth,
with him. The sun rises on their first morning together in many years.
Individually and together, Jackson and Claudia face the reality that
this house, a home for so many generations, is beyond renovation and
crumbling to the ground. Yet a spirit of a time gone by still lives
within the walls. Consequently, each member is forced to rediscover
their identity within this changing, yet still fragmented, family unit-to
realize their connections to each other and their connections to a shared
lineage.
